The Ownership Mindset

How you think about your life determines what you own in it.

The Ownership Mindset is a free resource from America's Holding Company — built on the belief that before you can own something financially, you have to own your thinking. How you approach your time, your decisions, your relationships, and your money all determines whether you end up an owner or just another person who paid in and got nothing back.

No course. No paywall. No upsell. Just real thinking from someone who's still on the road, sharing what they're learning as they go.

What this is

Not a tax course. A life operating system.

The Ownership Mindset started as a tax strategy program — the idea that if people understood how money actually works, they'd keep more of it. But the deeper we got into it, the clearer it became: the tax strategy starts upstream, in how you think and how you live.

So that's what this became. A framework for building a life you actually own — financially, mentally, and in every way that matters.

  • How to think about money and time together
  • Goal setting and long-term thinking
  • Commitment and avoiding the shiny object trap
  • Building a positive, resilient mindset
  • Authenticity and showing up as yourself
  • Tax strategy and keeping more of what you earn
  • What ownership really means — in life and in business
The three pillars

Own your mind. Own your money. Own your future.

Everything in the Ownership Mindset connects back to one of three ideas.

Own your mind

Your mindset determines everything downstream. Happiness, commitment, attitude, authenticity — these aren't soft topics. They're the foundation of every financial and life outcome you'll ever have.

Own your money

Understanding how money works — how to keep more of it, how to make it work for you, and how tax strategy fits into a long-term wealth plan — is not optional. It's a responsibility every person owes themselves.

Own your future

Goals, legacy, and the long game. This is about playing a game that outlasts you — building something your kids and your community can benefit from long after you're gone. That's what AHC is. That's what the Ownership Mindset points toward.

From Justin

I'm not teaching from a textbook. I'm teaching from the road.

I went through a divorce. I tried and failed at multiple businesses. I stocked shelves at midnight. I'm 39 years old with three kids and a dream that most people think is crazy. Everything I share in the Ownership Mindset comes from actually living it — the wins, the losses, and everything in between.

This is free because I believe financial and life education should be free. You shouldn't have to pay someone to tell you how to think about your own life. Take what's useful. Leave what isn't. And if it resonates — come own a piece of what we're building.

Life with Justin Stephens: A Journey of Trust and Purpose

Welcome to the exploration of "Life with Justin Stephens," where we delve into the profound lessons of trust, timing, and the journey of personal growth. In our fast-paced world, it's easy to feel restless, eager to push forward, and make things happen. However, as we navigate through life, it's essential to understand the importance of trusting a higher power with our plans. This blog aims to share insights from my journey, focusing on the significance of patience, faith, and the pursuit of our true destinies.

The Importance of Trust in Our Plans

In our daily lives, we often find ourselves caught up in the hustle and bustle of achieving our goals. We create plans, set deadlines, and strive to meet expectations. However, amidst this busyness, we must remember the wisdom of trusting our plans to a greater purpose. It's not uncommon to feel the urge to control every aspect of our lives, but true fulfillment comes when we relinquish that control.

As I reflect on my journey, I've learned that trusting in a higher power allows for grace to flow into our lives. Walking in alignment with this grace means understanding that we cannot force outcomes. Instead, we must remain patient and open to the timing of our journey. Trusting in divine timing is crucial; it reminds us that every moment counts, and everything happens for a reason.

Finding the Right Timing

Timing is an essential aspect of our endeavors. In our eagerness to succeed, we often overlook the significance of waiting for the right moment. As stated in the message, "A single day counts like a thousand years to the Lord," it is a reminder that our perception of time may differ from that of a higher power. This perspective encourages us to cultivate patience and understand that delays may serve a purpose.

In my experience as an entrepreneur, I've faced numerous challenges that tested my patience. There have been times when I felt compelled to rush decisions or push forward despite uncertainties. However, I've learned that trusting the process and waiting for the right opportunities often leads to more significant outcomes than forcing my agenda. The gentle nudges and spontaneous ideas that arise often guide us toward the next steps in our journey.

Embracing the Journey

Life is not merely about reaching the destination; it's about embracing the journey along the way. Each experience, whether a success or a failure, contributes to our growth and understanding. I've come to realize that sharing these lessons with others is vital. It creates a sense of community and encourages others to reflect on their journeys as well.

As I document my experiences through my blog and social media, I aim to inspire others to embrace their paths. Life is indeed a team sport, and there is room for everyone on our teams. By sharing our stories, we can uplift and motivate one another to trust the process and remain committed to our visions.

The Role of Community

In this journey, community plays a significant role. Surrounding ourselves with supportive individuals can make a world of difference. As we navigate our paths, it's essential to connect with those who inspire us, challenge us, and help us grow. Engaging with a community allows for the exchange of ideas, experiences, and encouragement.

Through my interactions with others, I've witnessed the power of collaboration. Whether it's brainstorming new ideas or providing support during challenging times, the collective effort often leads to greater outcomes. Trusting in our community and recognizing the value of teamwork can propel us forward in ways we may not have envisioned.

Lessons Learned from Failures

Failure is an inevitable part of any journey. However, it's essential to view failures as opportunities for growth rather than setbacks. Each misstep offers valuable lessons that shape our character and resilience. In my experiences, I've encountered challenges that initially felt overwhelming, yet they ultimately taught me the importance of perseverance and adaptability.

As I navigate my path, I make it a point to share my failures openly. By doing so, I hope to encourage others to embrace their struggles and learn from them. It's crucial to recognize that we are not alone in our challenges, and sharing our stories can foster a sense of connection and understanding.

Trusting the Process

At the core of my journey lies the principle of trusting the process. It's easy to lose sight of our goals when faced with obstacles, but maintaining faith in the journey is vital. As I continue to pursue my dreams, I remind myself to stay grounded and trust that everything unfolds as it should.

By releasing my plans to a higher power, I open myself up to new possibilities and opportunities. This mindset allows for flexibility and creativity, enabling me to adapt to changing circumstances. Embracing the unknown can lead to unexpected blessings and growth.

Good morning. Good morning. Good morning.

It is September 12, 2024. It is a beautiful Thursday morning and a great day to be alive. Let's dive into our devotional.

Trust me with your plans. Oh, that's good. Beloved, I see your restlessness to make things happen.

I love your excitement. But I must warn you against striving to do things in your own strengthen. Walking in my will releases my grace.

Remaining in my timing and trusting me to open doors is the only way you are going to fulfill your true destiny. You cannot force my hand. You must not fight so hard to see my will come to pass that you actually step out of my timing and grace.

I am asking you to trust me with your plans. Make them, but then release them to me in total trust and confidence. Pay attention to the gentle nudges as I direct you to the right people and places.

Don't ignore those spontaneous, random ideas that spark inside you often. They are the keys you need for the next step of your journey. I love your excitement, but we are in this together.

Trust me. My wisdom will lead you. You will own.

You only need to ask and believe. Wow. That's good.

Dear friends, don't let this one thing escape your notice. A single day counts like a thousand years to the Lord Yahweh, and a thousand years counts as one day. This means that, contrary to man's perspective, the Lord is not late with his promise to return.

As some measure lateness, but rather his delay simply reveals his loving patience towards you because he does not want any to perish, but all to come to repent. Second Peter, three, eight through and nine. I need to do that.

I've been working very hard to trust in his timing and trust him with my plans. As an entrepreneur, it's so easy to get caught up in the busyness of building. It's easy to get caught up in the desire to complete and push forward and always change and make things happen.

But at the end of the day, it's not me that's making anything happen. It's him. I need to trust him with my plans because I promise you, I cannot make my plans come together.

He is the only one who can make what I've been trying to do work, and I need to release those plans to him. And so I would challenge you today. Think about what plans have you been making? What ideas are you working on that you need to trust him with?
